Prof Gyampo- UTAG Has A Moral Responsibility To The Ghanaian People

Professor Ransford Gyampo, a lecturer at the University of Ghana who double as Secretary for the University Teachers Association (UTAG) has asserted that the association should be ready to challenge the existing state of affairs and should be ready to overcome the establishments used by the state to intimidate every organizations to do it's bidding.

In a post shared on his official Facebook Page on Thursday, 27th January 2022 he wrote;

"UTAG has a moral responsibility to the Ghanaian people and must be ready to challenge the status quo and defy the very establishments used by the state to intimidate and whip everyone into submission (M.A Akudugu,2022)."

The comments of Prof Gyampo comes as a background to the ongoing strike action embarked by UTAG. Every negotiations with the government has proven to be futile and as at now, there is no said date for the association to call off the strike.

Although the National Labour Commission has warned UTAG that it is illegal strike and that they must return to the classroom but they are yet to obey. UTAG believe that their condition of services ain't the best and their demands must be met by the government.
