Jachie Pramso SHS (JAPASS), who was reportedly attacked by the headmaster of the school, has been disturbed because she thinks that the event could impact her work in the ongoing Senior School Certificate exam in West Africa (WASSCE).
Identified as Mary, the 19-year-old final-year student, commenting on the current events and politics show of Akoma FM, GhanAkoma complained that her headmaster has beaten her with a cane without cause on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Mary informed the event presenter, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that last week, "We were at school and our headmaster was ready to reprimand my colleague for being clothed improperly, so I offered him my jacket to hide his indecent clothing, and the headmaster requested me to wait for him and go to his office.
"I arrived at the workplace later and viciously beat me," she recalled. A big cane mark video in the back of Mary shows how she was exposed to attack in social media, a scenario that is terrible for some Ghanaians. The last year student, a victim of corporal punishment, explains that she experiences acute spinal aches, making it virtually hard to sit.
This indicates that it will be tough for her to sit in the next WASSCE examinations."Now I can't even focus, since I have been traumatised and since the incident happened, I could not go to campus and I'm afraid that it may damage me."
Meanwhile, Hannah Amponsah, Ashanti Regional Coordinator for Child Education of the Ghana Education Service (GES), termed the event as unprofessional and advised the victim to report it at a District Education Office for regional reporting on necessary action.
The JAPASS headmaster, known as Mr Donkor, who was accused of attacking the pupil, had yet to provide his version of the event when this article was made.
His telephones were off.
