Wesley Girls Senior High school in the Central region is trending on social media currently. If you recall, the prestigious girl's school in Cape Coast has been in the news in recent times over an issue which has to do with a student fasting during the Ramadan.
Why the hashtag
The hashtag #GeyHeyTruth is created to tell the true story of what really happened in the Wesley Girls High school.
The truth
The hashtag revealed that, in the 90s, no-fasting policy was instituted by the school authorities because some Christians who were by then students had fasted to the point of collapsing and some nearing fatality.
As a precedent, all students in Wesley Girls Senior High were banned from doing fasting on campus irrespective of one's religious background.
It will therefore be unfair, to say that the Christian community does not tolerate other religious practices in the various mission schools set up in the country.
It is also undoubtedly true that, the Christian community in Ghana has done a lot for the country in terms of establishing a formidable mission schools to building hospital facilities in many parts of the country towards the development of Ghana.
As we speak, so many mission schools in the country have produced well-mannered and high-profile citizens who are making their school and Ghana proud. For example, Presec Legon, Wesley Girls High, Aburi Girls High and anymore.
