The Ghana Education Service has instructed all headteachers to keep schools open and keep the students safe till the teachers suspend their strike action. This comes after the Teacher Unions embarked on an indefinite strike in demand for the Cost of Living Allowance.

The question on everybody's mouth is, are headteachers not part of these teacher unions and how capable will a headteacher with his few management control over hundreds of students?
Students are very hard to control these days and headteachers alone cannot manage them. Nana Addo should rather direct GES to close down schools now since the teacher unions have vowed not to return to class till their grievances are met.
These negotiations will take time and it is better for students to be with their parents whiles this continues for the safety of these students.
What do you think, without teachers, should students still be in school or the Nana Addo government should close schools?
