The evidence of the accompliments by a licensed teacher is to be kept in the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Log Book. It will serve as evidence or witness for teacher at the end of the CPD cycle.
News from Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region indicate that, licenced teachers have been asked to pay two Ghana Cedis, fifty pesewas (GhC 2.50) in order to get the Continuous Professional Development Log Book.
This is an initiative by a a certified National Teaching Council service provider. However, the District has over two thousand (2000) teachers but only twenty (20) of have paid the said amount.
According to the service providers, they do not want to give the book out for teachers run their own copies as it will fade in the course of time.
It seems teachers have to pay for everything these days. It is not easily clear why the National Teaching Council cannot procure the CPD Log Book for teachers at GhC 2.50.
The service provider wrote:
Dear all, a colleague is that suggesting l should give you the Log Book to make photocopies, but l normally don't do that because all teachers in the Country now need it and making more me photocopies will make it grow faint and the writings in it will gradually fade away and will be useless. For me to give to your heads, each school will need one full set of the colour type, that one will cost GhC 2.50 each.
