The management of the Takoradi Technical University has suspended sixth - five (65) students for engaging in various examination malpractices.
According to the school authorities, the students can no longer recognize themselves as students of the university for two semesters for the 2020/2921 academic year.
Out of the 65 suspended, 51 are males and 14 are females.
Ekow Payin Nketsiah Richardson, the public relations officer of the Takoradi Technical University, made known that the decision was taken after a disciplinary committee investigated and sanctioned the students, by suspending them for two academic semesters.
Richardson stated on the Takoradi - Based Empire radio, “As a center of excellence, we can achieve a lot only if we churn out good products, and it involves discipline, we want the corporate world to value our certificates. Examination malpractice is a serious offense and the school frowns on that”.
Following this decision made by management of Takoradi Techmical University, an aggrieved level 300 student of procurement and supply, Constance Asante has filed a lawsuit against the management of the university for suspending her on charges of unacceptable conduct, Improper use of the universities logo without authorization, assembling and plotting to organize an unlawful demonstration, inciting students against management and displaying posters to demonstrate on all social media platforms without approval.
