Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Opoku Amankwa has visited most Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Eastern Region to observed the preparation of the schools ahead of of upcoming WASSCE examination.
Prof Opoku Amankwa also was there to observed if there's a shortage of food since now the government and ministry of education are now supplying food items to Senior High Schools in the 16 regions across the country.
Assistant Headmaster of Achiase Senior High School, Mr Eric Obisi Osei noted that, the Achiase Senior High School is not facing any food crises because the suppliers are supplying food to them which every student will be fed. He also said now the school has gotten a place where there will be food storage so that students especially the final year students will not go outside the school to buy food.
Headmaster of Oda Senior High School, Mr Evans Boafo also said, now the problems which the school was facing has been solved especially the food shortage. He said food is on the way coming from the Buffer Stock which the distribution of the food has been divided into four zones which some schools will come to the school premises for their food items.
He also said preparation is underway for the students to write their Examination. The school has been organising an intervention classes to be well prepared ahead of the upcoming WASSCE examination, he said.
