Teacher trainees to undergo "GBEST" Before gaining admission to The college

The admission gaining procedure for the College of Education was very simple devoid of Entry tests and interviews. In recent updates, the National Teaching Council (NTC) is set to implement an entrance exam before gaining admission into any college of education.

Students' numeracy and reading skills will be assessed during the exam. It will also be a requirement for admission to teacher education programs. The exam is one of the proposed reforms by the National Teaching Council (NTC) and is expected to start during the next enrollment. This was said by Dr. Christian Addai-Poku at a one-day stakeholder engagement.

Kindly note that the Ghana Basic Education Skills Examination Test (GBEST), is not to replace the Teacher licensure Examination.

In Ghana, almost 90,000 teachers have completed the teacher license exam. Nearly 88,000 instructors passed the exam, with 84 candidates taking it five times without passing. Three hundred and seventy-two people have taken the exam four times and failed each time.

Kindly like, follow, share and share your thoughts about this initiative whether it will be beneficial or Not
