U/W: Far Away School in Sissala East, A Death Trap with No Teachers

A community school located in the Sissala East Municipality of Upper West Region has been ripped off by rain leaving students stranded.

Residents have since called on municipal chief executive of the area, Mr. Karim Nanyua to assist in getting the issue addressed in order for the students to return to the classroom for effective teaching and learning to continue.

"This depicts the current situation of a makeshift school structure made up of mud bricks and roofing sheets.

The structure is located in a community called Katiina in the Sissala East Municipal of the Upper West Region of Ghana. The community is averagely just five to ten minutes walk from Burkina Faso.

The indigens are Kasena people and hence speak Kasem language. They seem to be neglected in all spheres of development as the Name of the community hardly comes to mind when having discussions in the Municipality and country at large.

This situation therefore needs an urgent attention from duty bearers else teaching and learning comes to a halt as we gradually being ushered in to the rainy season.
