Massive Reaction As SHS Students Burnt Their Own School Into Ashes

I think our current government is doing well when it comes to education because so far so good, we have over 1,182 active senior high schools in Ghana right now. Senior high school in Ghana is one of the most overrated levels in the country because we've all seen all sort of bad behaviors SHS students are showing us since the beginning of this 2020.

Do you think the introduction of free education in the senior high school is the reason why most high students are behaving abnormal?

Focusing of the abnormal stuff SHS students do in this country, if care isn't taken, most will complete and get into scamming, robbery and prostitution. Let's jump into the main topic because, a day isn't enough for us to talk about the dark side of SHS.

Nyinahin Catholic senior high school is one of the five senior schools in the Atwima Mponua district, which is located in the Asante region.Nyinahin Catholic senior school is a category C school which is famously known for their catchy school uniform.

Just a few days ago(8 October, Friday) it was reported that a number of recalcitrant final year students set their own school on fire at night. According to Mr Boamah who's the Assistant headmaster of Nyinahi Catholic senior high school, he made it clear that, these recalcitrant final year students burnt their own school because, they weren't allowed to cheat during their WASSCE which ended earlier last week.

Due to that, they decide to destroy the school because they were upset at their invigilators and teachers. Mr Boamah added that, the fire outbreak burnt eight rooms in the school.

When the school was burning, the fire service quickly made it to the scene and tried quenching the fire, but before they could quench it all, they had to call for aid from the police because, as some students, were rather attacking the fire service personnel. One of the fire service personnel said, "I was hit with a chair at the time we were all busily working to kill the fire. I saw the boys who attacked me and still don't understand why the four young men opted to throw objects at me instead of helping to put the fire off". Isn't this a disgrace?

Luckily, no student was hurt but over 200 students suffered to find a place to sleep that night. The police are currently investigating on this issue.

These recalcitrant students should be punished because, first, they have destroyed the schools properties, and they also harmed the rest of the students residing in the school. Many netizens have spoken about this issue.

What do you think is the best way to deal with recalcitrant students like these ones?

As always"we see differently"
