One New Creative Arts and Two New STEM Schools Ready To Admit Third Batch Of Free SHS Students

President Nana Addo says the almost completed new Senior High Schools including the Creative Arts SHS, J.A. Kufuor SHTS and Bosomtwe Girls SHS in the next academic year will start enrolling the third batch of free SHS students.

He disclosed this during an inspection on the construction of the soon to be completed J. A Kufuor Senior High Technical School, the Creative Arts SHS and Bosomtwe Girls’ Senior High School all in the Ashanti Region

Named after the 2nd President of the 4th Republic, John Agyekum Kufuor, the J. A Kufuor SHTS, located in Dabaa in the Atwima Nwabiagya North, will serve as a model Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) school.

Speaking to Akuffo-Addo, the project manager of the John Agyekum Kufuor school said the SHTS has a capacity to accommodate some 1,200 students and prepare them for jobs involving applied sciences and modern technology.

The Ashanti-Region-based Technical School which its construction began in December 2019, the Project Manager said will be completed in the course of 2022, ahead of the commencement of the 2022/2023 academic year.

The Agyekum Kufuor School is fitted with a full complement of amenities such as playing fields, administrative buildings, libraries, and dormitories. Additionally, the V-Block in the school has a total of 24 classrooms.

The Creative Arts School located in Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region will equip students for the Arts, through powerful learning experiences, embrace and excel in the arts and academics, whilst working towards their visions of the future.

The Project has been designed to include the following 2-storey administration block; library block; auditorium/theatre; 4-storey 16-unit creative arts block with ancillary facilities; 4-storey 20-unit classroom block.

It also has 4 dedicated laboratory rooms; 3-storey dormitory block; 2-storey dormitory block; dining hall with kitchen; principal’s residence; 2 vice principals’ residence, 2 no. staff flats; sports area; maintenance shed and many more. 

The Bosomtwe Girls SHS to promote the participation of girls in STEM education Nana Addo said is completed and equipped with the requisite labs to aid 21st-century learning approaches and methods in science-based learning.
