College Education

Good News To Teacher Trainees.

In fact, it will be recalled during the pandemic period (COVID 19) that most of the Colleges Of Education in Ghana here engaged themselves in online studies where lectures were delivered online for students. Again, end of semester examination too was held online with the exception of Colleges affiliated to the university of cape coast (UCC). However, the current Level 300s and 400s who at that period were prospective Level 200s and 300s complained about their feeding grants/ components since they were not fed on campus for the second semester.

Ideally, the feeding grants was paid into the Colleges Of Education account and as such has to be refunded to the trainees since they were not fed on campus for that particular period of time. 800 Ghana cedis was paid to trainees as allowance and 800 cedis too was paid as feeding components.

Just recently, the Leadership of the teacher trainees association of Ghana, TTAG, made the break down of the feeding components with regards to the following of the official release from GTEC instructing PRINCOF's to pay 60% of the feeding grants to teacher trainees. That is, each student is entitled to receive Gh470.40 as a feeding grant from his/her respective College. However, this depends largely on the College in you find yourself. The good news is that, most Colleges have started the disbursement of the feeding grants With each student receiving Gh352 and some receiving the exact amount. Moreover, PRINCOF'S Of Colleges Of Education have made it clear that if you own the school, this amount of money won't be given to you. It will rather be used to deduct your school fees.
