CALID Ghana supports schools in two regions in Northern Ghana with PPEs to fight COVID

Civil society organization, Center for Active Learning (CALID), has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to selected basic schools in the Sagnarigu Municipality.  The donation, according to CALID is to support the schools’ management to protect the school children from contracting the deadly coronavirus.

Presenting the items to the school, the executive director of CALID Ghana, Mr Sumani Bapio said, the presentation is necessary because COVID-19 is real and still causing more damage to life.

He noted that, observing covid-19 safety protocols should be a priority everyone in the fight against the global pandemic

"We are here to show our support to Choggu Demonstration Junior High School with funding support from Oxfam Ghana. We are able to acquire 6000 nose masks, 150 hand sanitizers and 60 detergents and we are distributing them to ten different schools within the municipality" he said.

"We are doing it in both northern and savanna regions, basically in three districts which are Sagnarigu and West Gonja Municipalities and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district. After Choggu demonstration JHS, we are moving to Bagabaga demonstration in that order" he noted.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the head teacher of the Choggu Demonstration Junior High School, Alhassan Ziblim commended CALID Ghana for their kind support. He also assured CALID Ghana that the items will be put to good use.
