Impressive Scores In Semifinal Of 2021 NSMQ Ashanti Regional Championship, Check Schools At Finals

The semifinal and final stages of the 5th edition of the Ashanti Regional Championship. Some thrilling contests took place today in Ashanti Region's capital, Kumasi.

Just as everyone had predicted, the two academic rivals both booked a place in the final stage of the 5th edition of the regional championship.

Prior to the semifinal stage of the competition, Opoku Ware School had in it's earlier contest obtained a maximum 67 points where Prempeh College had obtained 80 points. These two schools are regarded as favourites to win the trophy this year. Let's see how it goes in the finals.

Many saw the contest of OWASS to be a an easy-win for the two-time NSMQ winners and it indeed was. Opoku Ware School dominated the contest from Round 1 through to Round 4.

Below are the points obtained by Opoku Ware School throughout the four rounds of their semifinal contest.

Contestants of four-time NSMQ winners, Prempeh College also carried the day by obtaining 42 points as against Kumasi Academy's 26 points and Kumasi Sec. Tech.'s 32 points. Many would say this is a low score but they have progressed to the finals anyway

Kumasi Sec. Tech. School and Anglican SHS, Kumasi had another opportunity to make it to the finals after losing their semifinal contests. A third highest losing school was needed to make the final contest complete and these losing schools had the same points in their respective contests; 32 points each.

To get the third school, the tie between the two schools had to be broken. Kumasi Sec. Tech. School were fortunate this time as they answered the tie breaker question correctly.

This means that the finals is between Opoku Ware School, Prempeh College and Kumasi Sec. Tech. School. This is another exciting encounter you cannot afford to miss.
