Former MP for Bantama Constituency, Daniel Okyem Aboagye has schooled Mahama Ayariga on why Ghanaians are taxed to pay on the freebies enjoyed. According to him, Mahama Ayariga enjoyed the free Northern Scholarship and a Scholarship to study at Harvard University at the expense of the other people. So, his argument that; it is not every Ghanaian who enjoyed the freebies is unfounded.
The former MP made this state on the KEY POINTS on tv3 today as a reply to Mahama Agariga’s statement that; it is not every Ghanaian being taxed to pay for the freebies enjoyed them.
“I was in Kintampo senior High School and I had to go and look for a cocoa certificate before I got the cocoa scholarship when my friends were going to school for free.
I am sure when you went to Harvard, you might have gone with a scholarship. The connection I am is trying to make is that somebody paid for your Northern Scholarship, somebody may have paid for your scholarship to go to Harvard and somebody is paying for free senior High School.
So, at a point in time, somebody will be called upon to cater for the bill. These things are natural development. Ultimately, somebody paid for our education, and today we are called upon to pay.” – he revealed
