The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) stated on Monday that the 31st BECE for School results of candidates who sat for the national examination last year have been available at https://eresults.waecgh.org/.

WAEC announced in a statement that, with the consent of the Examiners' Appointment Committee, it has cancelled the subject results of 138 candidates for bringing foreign materials into the examination hall.

The non-profit organization's management also stated that the full results of 46 candidates had been canceled for the offenses of either bringing cellphones into the exam room or impersonation.

“The subject results of 148 candidates and the entire Results of 109 candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into various cases of alleged examination malpractice,” as stated by the exams council.

It claims that the scripts of students from 24 schools in particular disciplines are being scrutinized as part of measures to combat exam malpractice. It stated that the withheld results could be canceled or revealed depending on the outcome of the investigations.

“The Council is cautioning all stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee. Candidates are to note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated,” the press release made this point.

The nationwide examination attracted 572,167 candidates, with 287,730 males and 284,437 females. There were 61 candidates with visual impairment and 321 with hearing impairment among the registered candidates.
