The Ghana Education Service has released the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for the 2020/2021 year.
This was announced through their latest press release from the Ghana Education Service. In the release, dated February 26, 2021, The Education Service has stated that, the computerized School selection and Self placement into the various Senior High Schools, Technical Institutes (TI) and Vocational Institutes will be live from Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Currently in Ghana, the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is a system used by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to place qualified Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates into Senior High School (SHS), Technical Institutes (TI) and Vocational Institutes.
According the Ghana Education Service, 494,530 registered students, out of a total 533,693 students who registered for the BECE in the year 2020, have qualified for placement; whiles 343, 264 students have been placed in one of the schools of their choice.
The remaining 151,266 qualified candidates who could not get the any schools, or are not placed into any school, must follow the following steps for the self placement.
To access the platform, first purchase a placement checker from any approved vendor, then visit the platform on https://www.cssps.gov.gh/ or https://www.cssps.org/ on your computer. Next step is to enter your ten (10) digit index number; remember to add 20, which is the year in which you completed the school, followed by the serial number and the pin code of the placement checker. After that, check if all information provided are correct, and then submit.
After submission, and when everything is successful, print out your form, and send it to your selected school.
