St Andrews SHS, overall best school in WASSCE 2020 award staffs Peace FM Oscar Adawudu reports.

Andrews Senior High School in the Assin Foso Municipality had graciously done their good works again in the private educational sector as the school that topped WASSCE 2020 did marvelously in organising a very robust and unprecedented send off-ceremony for three of it's staffs.

On Monday, 1st February 2021, the CEO of St Andrews Group of Companies, Dr Richard Asiedu did what the battalions couldn't do at the St Andrews Senior high School premise where Peace FM and Staff of Rich FM, one of the best radio station in Central region and an affiliate to Peace FM presented an undisclosed amount as well as an Akai curved glass door chest freezer to three of it's securities.

The cost of one of the Akai curved glass door chest fridge cost 2338.7 times three which amounted GH¢ 7016.00 plus an undisclosed amount which was presented to the pensioners who were Mr Asigbey Ben, Mr Owusu Agyei Solomon and George Tamakloe for the indefatigable role they played for the school in the vast number of years they had been with St Andrews Senior High School, Assin Foso.

Aside Oscar Adawudu, presenter of Rich FM and a reporter for Peace FM at the Central region, Nana Kuranche of Splash FM, Odoom Prince Linford of Nkwa FM and Shadrach Owusu Asante from Rich FM were also present.

Among some of the series of questions which were directed to the CEO, Dr Richard Asiedu on the rationale for awarding his pensioners, his views on the imminent closure of schools as opined by some Ghanaians, effort put up by St Andrews Senior High School meant to suppress the global pandemic Corona virus disease, the challenges of the school during the closure of schools in the Covid period last year and many others were what Oscar Adawudu and co channelled to Dr Asiedu of which he lavishly answered them politely.

What transpired between Oscar Adawudu of Peace and Rich FM and Dr Richard Asiedu, the Chief Executive Officer of St A Drew's Group of Companies duringnterview happened had been paraphrased below;

This not the first time I'm organizing a send- off ceremony to award my outgoing staffs with such an item and a huge amount but it had been the ideologies and tradition of the school of which I stands by to motivate all workers who put up audacious performance.

With regard to the challenges faced by Dr Richard Asiedu and St Andrews Senior High School during the closure of all schools last year, Mr Asiedu told the presenter that; "St Andrews Senior High School paid it's staffs including the teachers from the time they were all home to June and deemed it necessary to cut down the size of the staffs by laying some of them off since by the time school reopened, it was only the few teachers who could be made to continue due to the few form three students".

Other questions brought before Dr Asiedu Richard was about his stands on the call by some Social Commentators, Ghanaians for the Imminent closure of all schools in the country and this was how Dr replied below;

"My advice on this question is that the entire closure of all the schools in the school wouldn't be the best contingency plan but I would rather that those in the lower primary and Kindergarten students rather be close from school because they are vulnerable but with the adults from the Upper Primary, JHS, SHS and others are matured and would endeavor to observe the protocols to help bring the disease under control" Dr said to Splash FM, Nkwa and Rich FM presenters who were present along with Oscar Adawudu, the Central Region Correspondent for Peace FM and a Staff at Rich FM belonging to Dr Richard Asiedu.

When Dr was asked by the effort his school had put up to massacre the spread of Covid 19 by Oscar Adawudu, this what he also said below;

Everybody is at risk of the disease and the government alone cannot take the full responsibility in bringing it under control. We had already given nose mask to all the students in my school earlier before the government did so

"There is automation and digital materials that automatically gives you liquid soap and hand sanitizers, and an electronic hand drier after washing your hands which had become mandatory".

"We have done well with the electronic facilities provision which we intended to avoid the closure of the school by the Ghana Education Service and the Covid 19 taskforce by the government".

St Andrews remains the best in Ghana and in 2020, the school became first according to the WAEC rankings and the school also have best recreational facility like swimming poll.

The school has radio station,Rich FM which is ranked third at Central region out of about 37 radio stations by some institutions in the country as well as a remedial school, Ultimate Remedial School.

The school had employ over hundreds of non teaching staffs across the four campuses of St Andrews Senior High School Assin Foso, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Mankessim and Sefwi Asawinso.

Dr Richard Asiedu lastly entreated all individuals who had been employed to work hard and shouldn't work lackadaisical because to him, he is motivated by the motto of an Islamic Clerk known as Talal Al Murad which goes; "to ensure everyone around me grows including myself"
