The Deputy minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, who is also the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North constituency, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo popularly called "Hajia Kande", after touring senior high school final examination centers 2021 in her Constituency mentioned that, the free senior high school flagship policy by the Nana Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has provided a conducive environment for the conduct of the examination.
Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo said, the government after absorbing fees of all the candidates, logistics and infrastructure have been improved in all the schools to facilitate teaching and learning.
"As you can see, there is no student standing outside because he or she owes school or examination fees, the desks they are sitting on were also provided by government under the Free SHS policy and it's motivating enough. The serenity of the examination conduct should be attributed to the Free SHS flagship policy by government". Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo.
The lawmaker admonished teachers, parents an. stakeholders to place the students first in all that they do by encouraging them to study hard for the benefit of all.
Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, together with a team of officials from the Education Ministry, The Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly and The Abuakwa North Education Directorate embarked on West African Secondary School Certificate Examination monitoring at various centers in the Constituency. Both public and private school centers were visited by the team to wish the candidates the best of luck.
Among the centers visited were, Ofori Panin SHS, Only Believe SHS, Christian IPS, all in Akyem Kukurantumi, Saviour SHS Akyem Osiem and WBM Zion SHS, Akyem Old Tafo.
It was recorded that, three thousand, seven hundred and nineteen candidates registered for the examination with twenty two absentees in the Abuakwa North Constituency.
