Ghanaian musician turned a political activist, Kwame A Plus, has descended heavily on His Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and the honorable Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Edutwum for allegedly making senior high school education seemingly good for nothing.
According to the former campaigner for the Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, he is surprised how the president and the education minister are handling second cycle education in the country. According to him, he doesn't think this is qualified to be called good education.
To him, President Nana Akuffo-Addo and Dr Edutwum are not delivering any quality education compared to countries elsewhere, but spend millions of Ghana cedis in buying past questions for the kids to just learn and pass their final exams (WASSCE) do they can be applauded in the end.
Education Minister, Hon Dr. Yaw Edutwum.
Kwame A Plus has set the president and his minister in hot waters after he penned the following statement on his Facebook page:
"You don't have syllabus for schools, you don't have textbooks. All you do is to put kids in some nonsense traffic light (so-called double track education system); red go, green vacate, blue go, yellow break. School check check, is this school?
Then after three years, you spend millions to buy past questions for students to study and pass, then you tell the whole country to clap for you because all the free Senior High School students passed. Who are you lying to?"
Kwame A Plus further wrote about the Education Minister and quizzed, "You Edutwum adey feel you waaa. Ask everybody for Facebook. They know how much I like you. In America where you have a school, if this is what they do there will kids grow up and go to the moon?"
