Don't know how many people have really observe the the Ghana Education system and it's curricular. From experience I personally think the educational system isn't that bad and it's not good either. Now let's have a look at the good, the bad and the ugly side of our educational system.
The Good
As a human it's always good to be educated in order to relate with society. Therefore it is highly recommend able to be educated. It also gives you the opportunity to gain employment in the job market.
The Bad
Growing up and rising through the ranks of the Ghana Education system I noticed lags in our curriculum which always made it difficult or impossible for graduates or the educated to do something meaningful after school. The system is always geared towards a certain direction, that graduates always have to go round looking for jobs after graduation. The system doesn't yield producers but rather consumers. Our fore father's experienced the same and we all witness the same today.
To me the system and the curricular needs re-engineering in order to yield producers who after school can come out with creative jobs rather that for the masses to keep running around looking for jobs.
The Ugly
The ugly thing about the Ghana Education system is that the system will let you learn everything and yet not specialize in any. In the end the chaff you learn which does not yield any impact in your life and in your job. Why spend four years in the University and end up wasting 2 to 3 years learning chaff. It's really painful.
What do you think. Please contribute to the assertions raised above and let's help change the Ghana Education system and it's curricular.
