Just as the Bible says, blessed are those who fight to secure peace, for they shall receive peace. The same Bible speaks about working hard so you shall reap the fruit of your hard work. If you don't work hard, total failure will be your portion but if you work hard, you cannot fail. Many may fail so as many may pass but when the whole tree fails, it calls for trouble and anger voicing. An entire graduating class of one of the infamous schools in the Ashanti Region has shocked it's stakeholders when the whole students failed the just released WASSCE results.
The West African Examination Council WAEC, released the results of the first batch of the Free Senior High School students and Bankoman Senior High School who registered 720 students for the exams, could not pass the exams. Not even a single student from the school was able to pass the exams with a favourable grade. According to the West African Examination Council, a student with a grade of D7, E8 and F9 all falls under the Fail category and cannot get tertiary admission with such grades.
Of all the 720 final year students who sat for their WASSCE exams at the Bankoman Senior High School, none of them was able to get below D7. No one from the school attained a grade of A1 to C6 which is seemed as pass. The highest grade from the graduating class was D7. It is outrageous that not even a single student from the school was able to pass the exams said Emelia a saddened mother to an old student from Banko.
As statistics shows, in a total of every graduating class, there are those who are academically good and there others who are academically poor who cannot pass, but the whole students of the entire school failing the exams should bell something to our ears that someone or something is wrong somewhere said Agya Appiah, a board member of the school. Whiles parents were crying to the government to grant them remarking privileges for their children, the children were blaming the headmistress of the school for been behind the poor performance of the students.
According to Frimpong Edmund, a former SRC representative and Compound Prefect of the school and a member of the graduating class, the headmistress was against their passing of the exams because her own agenda was that, there have been rumours of the school passing with higher grades from previous exams so when she was posted to the school, she made it emphatically clear to the students that she will not tolerate any illegal examinations malpractice. Edmund went further stating that, the headmistress made it vividly clear to them that she would rather see them fail than pass the exams with examination malpractice. So they believe the headmistress is behind their poor performance at the school and authorities should investigate their exams. Edmund gave this revelations when Ato Kwamena of Kesben Media interviewed him at the school premises.
