The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a new date for re-opening for all basic schools and senior high schools in Ghana.

After the release of the academic calendar for the first term, the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced a new date for re-opening for all basic schools and senior high schools in the country for the 2023 academic year.
All basic schools reopen on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Schools were informed to reopen on Monday, January 9, 2023 but this change has affected this decision.
For Senior High Schools, SHS 2 and 3 students are to also report to school on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 while the reopen date for the first year students or form ones has been postponed till further notice. This is because the results of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates has not been released yet. After they are released then a date will be set for the reopening of first year students.
