Over the years examinations have been one of the major means of assessment for students.
At long last, the much-awaited exams to be conducted by the Institute of Educational Studies and the Institute of Academics Affairs of the University of Education, Winneba have commenced writing the End Of Second Semester Examination.
The University has officially arranged that students are to start writing the Educational courses and that of the Liberal courses first. This officially begins today. Some of these related courses taken today include Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation, Trends in Educational Management, Psychology, Guidance, and Counselling, among others.
This has made students hot and very busy. As it used to be that students used to have a verbal chat with friends after lectures, the trend has rather been the vice verse now. Any student you chance upon on campus is seen closely going through his or her lecture notes to revise what has been taught and learned.
When students were interviewed, they described the exams as a "do and die" affair since lecturers have reiterated that no one is going to manufacture marks for them but rather have to work very hard to build their marks.
Some of them also revealed that they have vacated their hostels and have been spending the night in the lecture halls so that dozing and sleeping wouldn't distract them.
I on this note I wish all the students the best in their exams.
