The management of the Ghana Education Service is by this communique announcing to the general public the role of teachers in coming population and housing census.
According to the Director General of the Ghana Education Service Prof. Amankwa, teachers are not exempted from the upcoming population census since they have a key role to play in the service. In a meeting on the 30th April 2021 between the management of Ghana Statistical Service and that of Ghana Education Service they draw a consensus on the involvement of teachers in the service.
This the Education Director said is not bad but those teachers who will be actively involved should usually try to give class exercise or assignment to their students and also sign in the attendance register before going to his work. He added this will be of great asset to both GES and GSS since both services are very relevant.
So the director said no teacher should be quiry for not actively taking up his roles as a teacher during this period. So all district education directors should be alert on this information not to punish any teacher under any circumstance pertaining this census activity.
