According to Prof Bokpin, it will save Dr Bawumia's integrity if he resigns as the head of the economic management team. Prof Bokpin noted that there are speculations that the vice president is not really in charge of government economic policies.
He added that the vice president is supposed to have the freedom and control over the economic issues and policies of the country but if this is not the case, then it will serve his interest to resign as the head of the economic management team. He said this is a bold decision he must make.
Prof Bokpin stated "I sympathize with the vice president. He's always at the face of the npp economic engineering engine, we were told I believe that if he had enough control maybe things will not have be like this."
He therefore advised the vice president that for the sake of his integrity, it will serve him better if he does not feel comfortable with the current role he is playing to resign.
He stressed "If the vice president feels uncomfortable about his role as the chair of the economic management committee and lacks the influence he should resign. It would serve him better and the reason I'm saying so is that it will help him maintain his integrity. He has to take the bold decision."
