The academic staff of Holy Child College of Education have expressed their displeasure over the newly appointed principal on campus. Due to that, they have demonstrated for her to be changed as early as possible. The academic staff have their specific reasons why there should be an immediate change of the new principal and they demand it to be done immediately before studies continues.
Most at times when we hear about demonstrations on campuses, it is either the students who are not satisfied with the authorities and rather demonstrate. But this time around it something different. The table has turned as the staff themselves are demonstrating for something they are not happy about. The news was monitored by Ahomka.News on TV 3 midday news.
According to the academic staff, the principal does not qualify to head the institute with the qualification she is holding. They said it is not merit for a principal to hold a degree that is lower than the tutors on campus. They are of the view that, some of the tutors are having higher degrees such is PHD than the principal who is coming to head the institution hence it can't be possible. There is a research qualification that the principal is not having and their investigations have unearth such truth so they are demanding an immediate change of her. Holy Child College of Education is a women's college of education in Sekondi Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana. The college hosts only females and it is one of the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana. The college is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.
