As many wanted the president to do, he has finally react to the denial of students of Wesley Girls Senior High School fast. During the Holy Ramadan Month, a father of a female student of Wesley Girls stormed the school for his daughter because the school did not allow her to fast.
This sparked many reactions in the country. The Ghana Education Service after noticing it ordered the school to let the students fast. The Methodist Church Ghana also in a statement noted that they will not allow any student fast because the school is a mission school and it's rules cannot be interfered.
Today at the celebration of Eid Fitr, the president has reacted to this brouhaha between the Methodist Church and Muslims. According to him, schools in the country has evolved and adopted their way of life to suit time so they should not turn it to a place to fight ideological religious riots.
"The schools have evolved and adopted their practice to suit the times and I will urge we do not turn them into the place to fight ideological religious battles". He noted this when he was speaking at the celebration of Eid Fitr at Accra today.
The spokesperson for the Chief Imam has also noted they (Muslims) will not disturb the peace of the country.
