An alumnus of KNUST, Barima Ansah who spoke to Nana Kojo Jantuah on Nhyira 104.5fm in Kumasi yesterday the 5th of July 2021 alleges there are dismissed students of the University who attend lectures, sleep in the various halls of residence and partake in all student activities.
Speaking on the back of the recent violence in KNUST during an SRC vetting, Mr Ansah stated, it is common to see students who have been expelled from the university ,for gross misconduct ,still going about their normal student activities.
Some of these expelled students who have violent backgrounds most often than not are the instigators of violence in the university, according to Mr Ansah.
He said in 2008 while still a student, a gentleman from one of the halls of residence was severely assaulted in Africa Hall because he was leading in the opinion polls in an upcoming SRC election. The University after its investigations found out that the perpetrators were former students of the University who have been summarily dismissed for a variety of offensive conduct.
Mr Ansah has called on the University to do a room to room roll call and search to clean the student body of imposters.
