The Chief of Gomoa Akropong Nana Odoom Amanfo brewed and exploded his feelings in total anger over the second appointment rejection of George Atta Mills simply because he doesn't attend the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
According to the reports, immediately George Atta Mills got his appointment to be the Headmaster for the Gomoa Akropong SDA Basic School, the Adventist Educational unit reportedly opposed his appointment. They rejected him on the basis that he is not an Adventist. They reportedly wrote a letter to the District Assembly and the District Education Directorate to reject the appointment.
The Gomoa Akropong Chief angrily reacted that, he gave the parcel of land to the SDA Church to build the school for the community. That means, the school is more or less an asset to the company.
Secondly, the Adventist Educational unit has no power to appoint a Headmaster. It's the duty of the District Education Directorate to make such an appointment.
The Chief further explained that, 20 out of the 22 teachers in the SDA school are non Adventist . That means it's not a big deal to accept a non Adventist as a Headmaster.
" Education shouldn't be linked to religion else we may lose something precious. George Atta Mills must get his appointment back " Nana Odoom stressed.
