Ghana sweeps 1st and 3rd position in the 2020 west African senior secondary schools certificate examination’s (WASSCE), overall total marks scored by individual student.
Last year over thousands and hundreds of senior high school candidates participated in the yearly WASSCE exams which is normally conducted by the west African examinations council.
Over the years senior high school student writes this WASSCE exams in other to ensure their qualification into the various university.
After every edition of the WASSCE exams, the west African examination council totals the score of every candidate in other to know who scored the highest marks.
The council does this by adding up all the scores of a candidate in all the subject that the candidate wrote.
The total marks of a candidate acquired in the core subjects namely English, mathematics, integrated science and social studies is added to the total score acquired by a candidate in his /her elective subjects to get the overall total marks or score of that candidate.
It is in this light that after the 2020 edition of the WASSCE, the west African examination council compiled the score of each candidate who wrote the exams.
The overall best student obtained a total score of 650.1328 and he happens to be a Ghanaian known as Kumah, the third highest score also went to a Ghanaian as well.
Master Kumah is currently with the Columbia university in the USA studying mechanical engineering and computer science.
