WAEC on break for 2022 Xmas and the new year

After successfully taking the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Basic Education Certificate Examination, and Novdec/December this academic year, the West African Examination Board has taken the Christmas break.

In a statement previewed by AcademicWeek.com, WAEC said over the Christmas holidays that its offices in Accra and other areas on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays. “The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) would like to inform all stakeholders and members of the public that their offices in Accra and other regions will be closed due to the Christmas and New Year holidays. New,” he said.

In a message of greeting to the people of Ghana, especially the students, the management of the non-profit organization said that offices across the country will open on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 8:30 am. After the ceremonial break, the Africa Examinations Council is expected to release the provisional results of those private and regular students who sat for BECE 2022 School and Private Examinations. To be completed in January 2023.

The non-profit organization (WAEC) is hosting the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination for the first time for two groups of BECE applicants (school and private) during the same time period this academic year. Due to the low number of BECE registrations for special students, WAEC has coordinated to organize the National Examination for final year students in junior high schools (schools and private BECEs) from October 17, 2022 to Friday, October 21, 2022,

A total of 552,276 prospective applicants including 276,988 boys and 275,288 girls from 18,501 Middle Schools (JHS) participated in the BECE for School Candidates at approximately 2023 centers nationwide.

With 18,501 public and private secondary schools, the organization (WAEC) has appointed about 2,023 superintendents, 1,816 assistant superintendents, and 19,384 superintendents to supervise the management of the BECE School in 2023 centres,

Regarding the BECE examination for private candidates, a total of 1,132 candidates including 634 men and 498 women took the special examination. The examination is conducted in 15 designated centers, mainly in the provincial capitals.
