On the 14th of April, 2021 some selected schools in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district benefited from the kind gesture from Center for active learning and integrated development (CALID) as they donated personal protective equipment to students in the above selected schools.
In an interview with Nkilgi Fm, Mr Banyiye Collins who is the project officer for CALID in the Savannah region said, their aim was to donate PPE's to schools in the STK district of the Savannah region.
He continued by saying, they are also on a mission to embark on awareness creation campaign in some remote communities in the STK district to alleviate misconception from residents about the Covid-19 vaccine. As they are planning to tour radio stations talk programs just to enable them reach the general public.
The PPEs includes, branded Center for Active Leaning and Integrated Development face marks, disposable face marks, hand sanitizers and gallons of liquid soap.
Known schools to have received the PPE's are, Sawla Girls Model School, Sawla Children Home and among other schools were the beneficiary schools. Each school received one hundred and twenty (120) branded Center for Active Leaning and Integrated Development face marks, three hundred (300) disposable face marks, hand sanitizers and gallons of liquid soaps.
The project officer Mr Collins also used the opportunity to acknowledged OFAM for helping Center for active learning and integrated development to ensure the success of their mission of donating PPE's to the above schools in the STK district of the Savannah region of Ghana.
Mr Thomas Tepeltey who is the assistant Headmaster of Sawla Girls Model appreciated CALID and their associates for the kind gesture. He pledged that they will put the items in good and proper use.
