Ghana Education Service: Oversubscribed Senior High Schools, 2020 School Placement
Computerized School Selection and Placement System was introduced by Ghana Education Service to solve the challenges in the Senior High School admissions.
Before the introduction of the Computerized School Selection and Placement, parents and students were going through a lot to gain admission to their schools of choice.
One have to get protocol, that's whom you know in order to get admission to one of the top Senior High Schools in the Country.
With the Computerized School Selection and Placement System(CSSPS) equal opportunity is given to all Ghanaian students, students from rural communities are given opportunities to be enrolled in the top Senior High Schools in the country.
Each year, some schools are Oversubscribed. Number of candidates who applied to be enrolled in such schools are 5 times more than the capacity of the school.
1. Kumasi Technical Institute: 68000 candidates subscribed, school capacity 940
2. Adisadel College, 52400 candidates subscribed, capacity 1200
3. Saint Peter's SHS
4. Prempeh College
5. Wesley Girls SHS(Cape Coast)
6. Mfantsipim School
8. Aburi Girls SHS
9. Holy Child SHS
10. Ghana National
The above schools have over 50,000 candidates subscribed, which is 5-6 time times more than the school capacity
