A trending issue that has rocked Ghana for some time now, is the issue of a textbook that lacks merit to be included in the educational system of the country, as the content of the book was filled with serious absurdity.
Ghana Education and Service (GES) and National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) over time have been subjected to several back clashes from the general public, due to the textbook. These books are History of Ghana, Text Book 3 which was written by Badu Nkansah and Nelly Martinson Anim and Golden English Basic 4, written by Okyere Baafi Alexander.
Reacting to the issue two of Ghana's prominent men has aired their view concerning the issue. Gabby Otchere Darko Ablaka has stated clearly that When some of those who opt to give our children enlightenment require deeper enlightenment themselves then society has issues that are deeper than we care to admit.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablaka also took to his Facebook page to write thus;
The benefits of inter-marriage according to our infamous authors:
"𝘌𝘹𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯;
𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭."
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵!
𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.
Although the Ghana Education and Service (GES) and National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has made a press release ordering the withdrawal of the textbooks from the market as they weren't approved by them. We believe more actions will be taken to see that these textbooks are either revised or eradicated from the market.
