Reactions After MP Tours Secondary Schools To Sensitize WASSCE Candidates Ahead of Upcoming Exams

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination is yet to begin for all the Senior High and Technical Schools in Ghana. Some students offering technical subjects in the various schools has began the technical aspect of their courses.

Students offering Clothing and Textiles and Visual Arts have already began their practical subjects in sculpture, graphic and design, and sewing. The examination for students in all departments would officially begin on Wednesday, the first of September, 2021.

As students prepare to write their WASSCE, headmasters and teachers schedule various programmes to enable the students be focused on what is expected of them. They invite several dignitaries that could help prepare them for the task ahead of them.

The Member of Parliament for the Anlo Constituency in the person of Honourable Richard Kwame Sefe has organised such a program to visit all the Senior High schools within his constituency to sensitive students ahead of their examination.

In a program that took place recently as reported by Jubilee FM, the Member of Parliament has organised a two day tour to visit all the Senior High Schools within his Constituency, precisely the Anlo Constituency. This was also captured by the Facebook page of the Member of Parliament and some Facebook users reacted to it.

The member of Parliament has featured Mr. Joel Degue, an entrepreneur and former teacher at the Keta Senior High School and Dr. Julius Kattah, a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon and a visiting lecturer at Valley View University to talk to the students on the topic, After School, What Next?

The speakers took their time to sensitive students on the need to be focused to pass their examination and also prepare for life ahead of school. They were advised on beneficial ventures that they can get into as they await their results. The schools toured include Anlo Senior High School, Zion College, Anlo Technical Institute, and Volta Senior High School.

These are some of the reactions from the program as it was published.

The member of parliament who was also a former teacher received praises from Facebook users for the laudable idea. If all the Members of Parliament could do this, we believe that students would be filled with more zeal towards their final exams. The program took place on the 12th to 13th of August 2021.
