Today, Tuesday, September 27, 2022, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, John Mahama's running mate in the 2020 elections, spoke with Emmanuel Quarshie on Accra FM. The two spoke about a variety of topics pertaining to the educational system.
Prof. Naana asserts that the contemporary educational system is incomparable to what the NDC left behind. She made reference of the NPP's political games.
The host claims that numerous teacher candidates are now pleading with her and the NDC to retake power. The former minister claims that, contrary to what the NPP said, the NDC never eliminated compensation for teacher trainees.
She stated that student loans had mostly taken the role of the instructors' allowances under the NDC. She claims she is shocked that some young teacher candidates have claimed she canceled the payments.
“I want any student to call me that they were refused from getting their allowance. I want someone to call into the show and say they were refused loans. It has been 6 years now.”
“They know we never canceled their allowances. We never refused them loans. They know it. I am surprised such young ones can lie against elderly people.”
She said that she had nothing to forgive since now that everyone knew the truth, she was relieved that they had learned the truth when asked if he would accept the apology from these teacher trainees who had wrongly accused her and the NDC.
