Massive Shake Up Hit UCC Business School As Prof. John Gatsi Starts His Second And Final Term

There is a popular adage by the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus of Ephesus who said that the only constant in life is "change". It is always good to take a rest when that time is due.

In line with good governance and administrative efficiency, the University of Cape Coast School of Business organized a handing-over ceremony for Faculty (FREO)and Departmental Registration Officers (DREOs)and a Head of Development.

Whilst some officers or heads were maintained, the time was ripe for others to hand over the baton. Dr. Andrews Yalley remains the Faculty Registration and Examination Officer (FREO).

Dr. Dominic Owusu remains the DREO for the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

Dr. Anthony Idun Adu Asare handed over to Dr. Michael Owusu Appiah while Mr. Isaac Kossi remains the DREO for the Department of Management

Mr. Evans Frimpong Manso takes over from Mrs. Comfort Anipa as DREO for the Department of Accounting.

Ms. Salome Appiah takes over from Mr. Tetteh Kwao as DREO for the Department of Human Resource Management. Dr. Hackman Essel takes over from Dr. Edward Amartefio as DREO for CESED.

Dr. Nicodemus Osei Owusu handed over to prof. Abraham Ansong as Head, Department of Management. Meanwhile, Prof. John Gatsi starts his second and final term as Dean of the School of Business until July 31/7/2025.

The Dean presented the statutory duties of an HoD and the pivotal role of departmental boards in delivering on the mandate of developing the discipline. The Dean advised HoDs to value the departmental boards in leading the department.

He said, “ you will definitely need your colleagues one day so treat everyone as a colleague “. He said HoDs should promote togetherness and demonstrate the ability to bring all members to contribute to the work of the departments.

Prof. Gatsi explained that the departmental board is critical governance and administrative structure to ensure effective departmental operations to achieve inclusive results.

Two retirees from the School of Business Mr. Stephen Asante (who served the School and the University for 22yrs)and Mr. Francis Otoo (who served the School and University for 13yrs)were honored with citations and commemorative parcels.
