The WAEC WASSCE Grading System is the attempt to apply standardized measurements of varying levels of achievement in a course.
Grades can be assigned as letters, as a range, as a percentage, or as a number out of a possible total. In some countries, grades are averaged to create a grade point average.
As a student or parent, the grading system will help you calculate the overall grade point to be able to select courses or programmes you meet the required cut off point.

How to calculate wassce grade
The WASSCE results are calculated by summing the 6 best subjects from your results. These include the four core subjects (Mathematics, English, Integrated Science, and Social Studies) with Math's and English being a must subject among the core subjects.
Depending on the program you want to read at the University, you may add either Social Studies or Integrated Science to the English and Mathematics for the calculation.
If you are a General Arts, Business or Home Economics Student, you may use the Social Studies and if you are a General Science or Agricultural Science Student, you may use the Integrated Science.
