The Teachers, Education Service Workers and the District Director of Education in the Sekyere South District have been hit with some unpleasant news. Close sources revealed that, about five ( 5 ) teachers in the District ( Sekyere South) have lost their lives since 9th December, 2020. The causes of those deaths include accident, kidney disease and others.
Information trickling in from Tano Odumase in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region reveal that, a veteran teacher has passed on. The name of the deceased teacher is Mr Kwarkye Mensah who was popularly known as Saka.
According to the Family members and Colleagues of Mr Kwakye Mensah, the fifty-eight ( 58) year old Assistant Head Teacher, was involved in a ghastly on the Kumasi-Sunyani Highway last Friday, 10th September, 2021.
Mr Kwarkye Mensah together with other passengers who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to hospital. However, the Assistant Head Teacher was announced dead on arrival.
The sad news was confirmed to his colleagues at Tano Odumase today, Monday, 13th September, 2021 as they ( Mr Kwarkye's colleagues) had earlier rubbished it.
Saka's body has been deposited at the morgue for preservation as his colleagues and family members are planning towards the one week celebration.
In fact, looking at the deceased teacher's age, he would have been primed for retirement in the year 2023. Tributes from his colleagues and superiors have been pouring in as the can hold their tears.
