The Division of Human Resource (HR) held a befitting send-off party for 30 retirees of the Winneba and Ajumako campuses of the University at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre (JAMCC) car park, North Campus, Winneba.
The 30 retirees constituted 14 senior members, seven senior staff, and nine junior staff. The ceremony which is usually held at the SEMSA Club House was relocated to the JAMCC car park to enable the apt observation of physical distancing as part of the COVID-19 safety protocols.
In a farewell message to retirees delivered on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor by the Ag. Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, he assured retirees that UEW would always be their home away from home. He indicated that the University would receive them with warmth anytime they visited.
“One thing that we can assure you is that UEW would always be your home away from home. The place, where the heart is and where the body and soul even as you retire, would always be willing to go back again and again. We want to assure you that when you come back, anytime, we shall receive you with warm hearts and hands."
He urged them to support the University system positively through their encouragement and admonishment so that Management would be able to sustain and improve the system.
