Final year students of Senior High Schools were sent back home on the reporting day, Many parents and students were disappointed to hear the postponement of the reopening date for the final year students.

Some students traveled from a far distant to the school only to be told, the reopening date has been postponed.

Some parents were left with nothing after struggling to pay transportation to send their children to School.

A parent who traveled all the way from Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region to Achimota pleaded for support to send her child back home, this woman claimed she had nothing to bring the child to school and her church members contributed to buy provisions and paid for transportation to bring the child to Accra. A video circulating on social media with the woman crying for transportation to send her child back home causes massive Stir on social media.

Parents Teacher Association(PTA) of Wesley Girls Senior High School and Saint Augustine’s College hired busses to transport students to Kumasi.

Just after students were sent back home due the lack of furniture and beds, the President was seen cutting Sod for the five million dollars Award House. 

Social media users have reacted to the five million dollars award house. 

Many Ghanaians have called on the president to prioritize Education, education should come first before anything. 

Hundred dollars can buy five locally produced wooden bed for a school, five million dollars will build about ten dormitories for ten Senior High Schools.
