It was said by the Minister of Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum that universities should start admitting students with grade D7 in their subjects.
According to him D7 is a pass mark and to that all universities should make sure that they admit students with this grades.
According to him there is no sense to deny admission for a student who wants to do a French program in the university Because he or she had D7 in mathematics and A1 or B2 in French.
“ A student wants to specialize in French and you say that you need a minimum of C6 in mathematics. It doesn’t make sense because there is no correlation between French and D7 in mathematics “ he said.
He also said that in fact D7 is a pass according to assessment body.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum , the minister of education speaking at the swearing in and inauguration of governing councils of some public technical universities charged the schools to innovate and create access programs for students with grade D7 in wassce Exams.
