Video: Eschew Pride and Scrap Unsustainable Trainee Allowance, Dr Richard Asiedu Tells Government

The CEO and owner of St Andrews Group of Schools and Company, Dr Richard Asiedu has positively backlashed government over the unsustainable Teacher and Nurses Trainees Allowance which is draining down the nations scarce resources with upsurged economic woes

Dr Richard Asiedu bemoaned as Human Resources Doctorate Degree holder and academic elite whose contribution in the nations education over the past years has helped to project the vision in the training and nurturing of students in the secondary as well as tertiary education.

On the political programme dubbed 'Amanyosem' host by Samuel Huntor on Original TV, Dr Richard Asiedu, the highly revered CEO carefully unravelled to Ghanaians the head and tail of how the Teacher Training as well as Nurses Training Colleges came about, the need to scrap the allowances given to them which sounds inefficient to Ghanaians

"My brother if we are to go by party manifesto as the basis for ruling the country, things would go astray. If you look at the number of students in this teacher and Nursing Training Colleges and you factor in their feeding grants" He revealed.

"Myself, I have been a Council Chairman at Fosu College of Education. I know what goes there, its not easy so the government can backtrack. He can just rescind his decision on the payment of the allowances due to its unsustainable circumstance" Dr Richard Asiedu urged the government.

To the former Council Chairman of FOSCO who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of St Andrews Group of Schools and Companies, the purpose of the loans for Teacher Trainee and Nurses Trainees was to entice people to develop interest for those colleges

Now looking at the unparalleled nature of economic hardship and unemployment rate of Ghana, it becomes imperative for government to abort the allowances as a result of the increasing population of senior high school graduates and their preference for the Nurses and Teacher Training Colleges which fetch allowances.
