Tepa Senior High School (SHS) has finally made it 'as' the best performing school in the Ashanti region.
This revelation was made by the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum at a ceremony organised at Golden Beam Hotel to award the best performing schools in the Ashanti region.
Among the schools that made it through the list were, Toase Senior High School, Kumasi High, Ghana Muslim Mission Senior High School, Prempeh College, Saint Louis, Tepa SHS, Opoku Ware School, Wesley Girls, TI Amass, Pentecost SHS, Mankranso SHS and Osei Adutwum SHS.
A Citation was presented to the listed schools for their performances in the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
The Minister of Education disclosed on his social media handle that "The citations went to the 10 % out of the 135 SHS in the Ashanti region who scored the highest marks cumulatively in eight subjects from A1 to C6."
Dr Yas Osei asserted that "The presentation which took place at the Golden Beam Hotel was aimed at motivating the schools to continue working hard to improve their fortunes and the development of the nation’s human manpower resources."
Listing the current best performing Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region, the Minister said, "Currently, the top-performing school in the Ashanti region per the criteria is Tepa SHS followed by Saint Louis, Toase SHS, Kumasi High, Ghana Muslim Mission SHS, and Prempeh College."
However, the presence of the Opoku Ware, Wesley Girls, TI Amass and other schools were described by Dr Adutwum as, "The rest who were all decorated at the ceremony are Wesley Girls, TI Amass, Opoku Ware School, Pentecost SHS, Mankranso SHS, and Osei Adutwum SHS."
