The Government of Ghana has done many things for the education sector. Some days back, the Government of Ghana came out to release a statement informing the general public that, it has installed free WiFi in all the senior high schools in the country. When this came out, some of the people in the country were saying that the government should do the same at the Junior High Schools in the country. There is good news for all Basic Schools in the country.
According to the Minister of Communication and Digitisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the government is considering the installation of free WiFi in all Junior High Schools in the country. She added that, this is to enhance ICT, research and knowledge acquisition. She went on to say that, the installation of free WiFi in all Junior High Schools is a replica of the over 90% installed in Senior High Schools (SHSs).
Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful also stated that, the challenged now is how to replicate that in the Junior High Schools as the Education Minister seeks to introduce blended learning. She concluded by saying that, for the project to be rolled out in various Junior High Schools, the government needs to put in place the infrastructure to support that lanch at the Basic Schools in the country.
