A number of teachers who passed the 2021 Promotion Aptitude Test were placed on their respective new grades last month. The Controller and Accountant General Department has promised to place the rest of successful teachers in the coming months.
The Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service have taken note of some malfeasance on last month's( Semester) Electronic Salary Payment Voucher validation window. The various District Education Directorates and School Improvement Support Officers realised that some teachers went through the back door to get themselves upgraded without going through the necessary procedures. It means that, those teachers did not pass the Aptitude Test but have been moved to the next professional rank.
One School Improvement Support Officer in the Ashanti Region wrote :
" Good evening my noble headteachers, I am directed to inform you that by Friday 8th October 2021 all schools should have submitted their monthly returns for the month of September . This has become necessary as the District Education Directorate realised some of the teachers have been moved to higher ranks on the validation vouchers. "
It remains to be seen what kind of punishment Ghana Education Service would ditch out to teachers who would be found culpable of this financial irregularity.
