The Western North Regional Minister, Hon. Richard Obeng in the early hours of today joined the 13th Congregation Ceremony of the Wiawso College of Education under the theme, "Covid-19 Pandemic: The Changing Roles of Teachers and Student-Teachers."

Formerly known as the Wiawso Body Corporate Training College, the College of Education held its 13th Congregation Ceremony as the 2019/2020 crop of teacher trainees marked their graduation.

In attendance were Dr. Emmanuel Carsamer, College Principal - Sefwi Wiawso College of Education, Professor Sarah Darkwa, Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Professor William Coffie, Lecturer - UG School of Business, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II, Hon. Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Minister for Environment, Science, Innovation and Technology and Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Wiawso, Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Hon. Louis Owusu-Agyepong, Rt. Rev. Abraham Kobin Ackah, Professor Samuel Benjamin Owusu Mintah, Cape Coast Technical University, among others.

Addressing the congregants, Hon. Richard Obeng admonished the graduants to cultivate essential social values including honesty, diligence and integrity. This he said, will be the bedrock of their future success.

Adding to that, the Regional Minister encouraged the graduants to wholeheartedly embrace wherever they will be posted to in the country to offer their service. "That to me is one other way of expressing gratitude as students," he added.

Additionally, the graduants were advised not to start their profession with discrimination, citing that, in the event that such a thing happens, the universe will have its own way of balancing itself and the consequence might not be desirable.

He further congratulated them and urged them to learn how to sacrifice so that can eventually harvest the rewards that accrue to such values.
