Controversial pan-Africanist and political critic, Blakk Rasta has argued that the claim by the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta that our graduates are misfits for available job opportunities in the country is nothing but the truth. He noted that the bane of the country’s development is a result of the poor state of human resource development.
In corroborating what the Minister said, Blakk Rasta contended that our educational system is not producing graduates who are capable of taking up challenges to address them. He stressed that all that is churned out among graduates are theoretical and illustrative concepts.
On his show dubbed “The Black Pot”, Blakk Rasta emphasized that until Ghanaians and its leaders begin to rethink our educational system to produce the next generation of problem solvers and entrepreneurs, there shall always be the issue of unemployment.
He reiterated that it would be wrong to match up our current human capacity to drive the developmental transformation we all desire.
“Human resource development is missing in this country. Your educational system is nothing but swallowing what people have thrown out. So you are churning out graduates who cannot fit into any employment.
"The Minister of Finance just said that. There are jobs but our graduates cannot fit into those employments. It means your educational system is a mess!” he exclaimed.
Blakk Rasta continued that any consideration to change systems in the country must equally target the attitudes of the people. He explained that people would have to be reoriented to live within the systems that shall be established to advance the course of Ghana’s development.
He lamented that the Ghanaian is inherently deviant and would mess things up even if he is granted an opportunity to learn from the rest and replicate the knowledge at home.
“Your nasty attitudes, ethnocentric and tribal discrimination never changes!! You can take the Ghanaian out of Ghana but you can never take the Ghanaian out of him!”
