The National Teaching Council(NTC) has started the distribution of in-service teachers' licenses to the staff of the Ghana Education Service in the Greater Accra Region as at yesterday 17th May,2021.
The National Teaching Council (NTC) recounted that the exercise started with the distribution of teacher license to teachers holding masters degree, who qualified in the service to get a license.
Meanwhile, for unprofessional teachers with O'level and Senior high school certificates who teach in private schools, temporary license which will enable them to upgrade themselves in the field will be given them until they sit for the teacher licensure to be fully qualified. This will be given after all the qualified teachers in the country have been the issuance. The unprofessional licences will be valid for 2 years. Teachers who don't upgrade on their certificates after the two years will not be permitted to teach in any school in Ghana.
